Today we went to Santa Monica! it was fun, though something we did made me think. We went to lunch at this london themed restaurant and saw that they had pictures all around the walls of people in the restaurant. Adeline casually remarked "they should take our photo cause we will all probably be famous". While i think the remark was meant to be sorta tough and cheek she has a point probably at least five people from our class will reach that level of fame. I just hadn't thought about it before but i could be taking classes with the next tim burton; I could be rooming with the next brad bird, or even I could be the next brad bird.

Thursday was not as stress full as i thought
ANYONE PLANING ON GOING TO CALARTS REMEMBER:
Do summer classes before you go. Not only does it lighten your load of classes your freshman year but it also lets you skip through the madhouse that is signing up for classes.
I was stressing out about yesterday but it turns out i was stressing over nothing. Wednesday's meeting they threw a bunch of info at us that kinda scared me. I had to finish my special services stuff and sign up for classes but my credits from the summer were still in the air about wether they would take or not. REMEMBER The staff are here for you! Talk to them! i spoke to one of the animation faculty and she said she would help me in clarifying with the office about my credit issues. It was a huge help.
last night there was a party for animators at some guys apartment but we all decided to see the producers show instead. The films were great and we felt so inspired after we decided to go into Mahoney's class room and draw like mad men.
PS napkin Art is the best idea ever (more info sometime soon)
Oh yeah, "Happy Birthday DAD!!"

Here I stand, victorious in my dorm room at my new school, Calarts! All the hard work: preparing a portfolio, rearranging my school schedule and drawing have all paid off finally. Now i look forward to four more years to do it all over again!
First things first, do I need to clean my ears out or have i finally met people who mumble more than i do? I think it's probably both but I have never said "what" so many times in my life.
I think i should go in chronological order.
We got into the dorms and i was the first one there. Dad (the engineer) detected a waist of space in the room and decided to call mom (the non engineer). Mom had this great idea for the set up (seen above) and so we moved furniture. Turns out our idea was so good other dorms came in to copy down the floor plan.
My Roommates name is Bryan and he has the coolest stuff ever! Those pixar posters and R2-D2 unit you see in the corner, all his!

I have video on here from well over three years ago so you can imagine the thoughts of nastagia i am thinking as i look through these old clips.
Life is very boring in this last week of freedom. (Nothing much to do)

I had a dream
K so me and my family were late to church so we instead went to this brunch with our relatives. anyway, when we got there the food was already out so we dug in right away. some of my relatives needed to go to the bathroom. they left the table. Then a bunch of little children and young teenagers all gathered around their spots thinking that they had left and started grabbing for their food. we protested saying "thats our relatives food!" "they will be back soon" and "stop that at once" and they protested back with grunts and saying "it's food" they eventually gave up and moved away to another table were they sang a song about us being selfish to try and make us feel guilty. My brother sang a song back at them about pigs and slaughter (even though we were eating roast beef. We then tried to get my granddad to eat this snow pea stir fry but when ask to he protested saying it did not look like anything he would like. So we forced him to try it but the moment it touched his lips he didn't like it.
Then we went to this park were their were these three paths going up a hill. My mom asked me questions about the paths wondering which one we should take. I told her stuff about the one to the left then the one to the right then i couldn't stop making jokes about how much Buddha loved the "Middle path". When looking up the hill all of the paths diverged to the right so it really didn't matter wich one we took they would lead to the same place.

Sick
(So i just realized i made this great description of my surgery experience that i never posted so i figure i would post it now. it was never finished but i figure why wast it )
Being sick is bad but voluntarily getting sick is even worse. The whole time your thinking to yourself "Why did i do this willingly?" but than you realize that because all the drugs you were on you would be willing to do anything!Ok let me back up. For a while i had been trying to get a diagnosis on a sleeping disorder I've been struggling with my whole life. When we went to the stanford sleep clinic we found out that I had both sleep apnea and i needed to get surgery. So my parents signed me up for surgery this past week end. I got surgery on my septum, SPP, removed my tonsils and did something else to me that i can't remember. I've never had surgery before this, and i never realized that you naked under the hospital gown. The worst part is that they have all the ties in the back of the gown so it's the most awkward thing to get on, but you don't want to ask for help to put it on because your naked. Then after your naked you are given an IV. The iv is at a lower temp than your body is so when they finally get it into your vein It makes your whole body feel cold. Then after naked and frozen, you are then approached by many people all asking the same questions: birthdate, Name, the usual stuff. Then your best friend comes in, The anesthesia guy. He tells you how your going to feel a burning sensation up your arm and then you feel this, than this, and blah blah blah. Really it doesn't matter what he said because you'll be out so fast you wont have time to feel it. I think the hardest part about the whole thing was the time between the surgery and getting to my room. During that time your kinda half awake half out of it and you gotta race like a pee horse. But you aren't aloud to go to the bathroom because of the drugs your on. So they hand you a jar! I don't know if it is the people around you, the anesthesia or the fact that you are trying to pee in a jar but you can't pee, try as hard as you may you can not pee. After two hours every ten minutes they would tell me I was going to go to my room soon. After about a hour i finally got there.

Buy stuff!
What I wish someone had told me before I came to Calarts
- Get a coffee maker of some kind
- For your first year don't worry about making a GREAT film. Just make a film.
- Sketch
- Make a portfolio, portfolio
- Don't pull the "all-nighter" just to pull the "all-nighter"
- Schedule in Breaks
- Take an english 101 class
- To get anything done with administration you need to ask more than three times.
