Agent says you don't need an Agent

we had an agent come in and deliver a talk about how to get jobs in the industry. The two best pieces of advice he had to offer was to learn a second language, and that you don't need an agent. He also gave some good advice about were to go around the world for jobs right now and how to make yourself more marketable to studios. He brought up the idea to get some live action experience as all of the animation studios are owned by live action studios and those are the studios selecting the directors and filmmakers to work on the animations.

Life Drawings

So i only have three peices today because all the other ones were picked up by the teacher. Here are the three i got.



I also went through the pile of drawings and found ones from a while back! I was just grabbing the card board ones out of the pile because that is what i thought he had picked up.

Update: Here is the work from the cases this week. I will get scans in two weeks when i get these back but until then here are the photos.

Here is my latest animation assignment for 3d. The Assignment was to animate a biped figure.

Here are some new drawings from life drawings. Once again not everything is here and i have some stuff from a couple weeks ago because it was in the cases. I haven't been reporting on any art getting in the cases but i have been getting at least one in each week. This week i did some awesome collage work that I'll probably show in a couple of weeks. Anyway here they are!

Oh my, this music video is the most unbelievably cutest thing in the whole world.

Purpose

It's that little flame that lights a fire under your ass. Purpose it keeps you going strong like a car with a full tank of gas. Everyone else has a purpose so what's mine?

I wish there was a person that would approach you and just say what it is that you are meant to do because this searching is annoying and frustrated. The Disney and Pixar animators were here today giving critiques about our animations. When they critiqued me I Didn't get a very positive reaction. They said I needed to pick a form (3d, 2d, Stopmotion) and work in just that so that I can get the fundumentals of animation. I didn't feel as though they saw anything that they liked or thought was good.
I think it's a little weird for them to tell me to not experiment after all it's my first year hear and this is the time when you should be figuring out what you like to do.
I think they have a point though about picking one thing. I think that has been my problem not just in art and animation but in everything, I'm ok in a lot of things but not great in one of those things.
Anyway it put me in a bit of a down mood that day and loosing my ID didn't help at all releave the stress.
Well coraline is comming out tommorrow. Maybe that will put me in a better mood.
When I have a down day i find this song puts a smile back on my face. I would love to animate this sometime in my life. The energy of the song dipicts such a clear image in my head.
